Ali is a PhD Candidate in Educational Technology at Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus, with a strong background in Computer Science and Digital Learning Innovation. He has extensive experience in technology-enhanced education through his work at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), where he serves as Lecturer, LMS Administrator, Instructional Designer and Learning Support Specialist. Holding multiple professional certifications, Ali is certified by the UK's Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA) in Blended and Online Learning and Learning Analytics, and has recently completed the Learning Analytics for Teachers MOOC offered by the Swiss Distance University of Applied Sciences (FFHS) under the UNESCO Chair on Personalised and Adaptive Distance Education further deepening his expertise at the intersection of data-informed teaching and personalised learning. Ali has contributed to major educational initiatives including the development of LMS manuals, remote teaching materials during COVID-19, and teacher STEM manuals for the STEM for Success (S4S) Project. He has also supported large-scale EdTech and education reform projects with the World Bank, including ZISP and the ICT Retooling Project for Tanzania, focusing on digital learning infrastructure, teacher capacity development and the monitoring of system-level interventions. His research and publications span educational technology, AI in learning, ICT integration and emerging tools such as ChatGPT. He regularly presents at international conferences and facilitates workshops on e-learning, problem-based learning and innovative teaching practices. His work centres on leveraging technology to transform teaching, learning and educational equity across Zanzibar and the wider region.
