Mansab Seif Nassor

About

Mansab Seif Nassor serves as an assistant lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Community Development at the School of Agriculture, State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), in Tanzania. He holds a master's degree in environmental management and community development and a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture and community development, and has over ten years of progressive experience in academic instruction, research, and sustainable development. His academic and research pursuits concentrate on environmental management, riverbank restoration, seaweed quality enhancement, agricultural value addition, livelihood improvement, and sustainable protein source performance. At SUZA, Mr. Nassor actively engages in teaching, research supervision, community engagement, project coordination, industrial attachments, and strategic institutional linkages. He also serves as Chairman of the Zanzibar National Focal Group for groundwater management under the Ministry of Water, Energy and Minerals (MoWEM); A Task Group Leader of Subject Matter Agricultural Machinery under the JICA-supported TANRICE 3 Project; and a champion of industrial attachment collaboration between SUZA and the Zanzibar Sugar Factory Limited to strengthen production, employment, and applied research. His overarching research objective is to advance climate-resilient, evidence-based agricultural and environmental practices that enhance productivity, value addition, and livelihoods among smallholder farmers and coastal communities, particularly within Zanzibar and the wider East African region, Beyond higher education, he is a dedicated specialist in organic farming, serving as a lead trainer for smallholder farmers in sustainable agricultural practices under the ongoing RES4CLIMA project. Through this initiative, he facilitates hands-on capacity building in organic soil fertility, eco-friendly crop management, and climate-resilient farming techniques to promote sustainable rural livelihoods. He has also built strong experience in international collaboration and capacity building through the FK Norway knowledge-exchange programme, with expertise in monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and cross-cultural teamwork.
