About
Ms. Salma Yahya Shahe is an Assistant Lecturer in Agribusiness Studies and currently serves as the Acting Head of the Department of Agriculture Extension and Community Development. She has an interdisciplinary academic background in agribusiness, agriculture, rural development, finance, and investment planning. She holds a Master’s Degree in Rural Development and Management Studies from China Agricultural University, China, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Finance and Investment Planning from the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP), Dodoma. Her academic background combines international and local perspectives, providing her with a strong foundation in both theory and practical approaches to agricultural and rural development. Ms. Salma is passionate about agribusiness education, agricultural entrepreneurship, rural economic development, community empowerment, and sustainable agricultural transformation. Through her teaching, academic leadership, and engagement with students and communities, she is committed to developing practical skills and innovative solutions that address agricultural and socio-economic challenges. Her expertise and leadership contribute to strengthening agricultural education, agribusiness development, investment opportunities, and sustainable livelihoods in Zanzibar and beyond.
