Dr. Nassor Omar Mohammed is a distinguished lecturer in Social Work Studies, specializing in Social Planning and Development in the Department of Social Sciences, School of Natural and Social Sciences. He holds a PhD in Social Work and a master’s degree in social work from the Open University of Tanzania, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with Education (English and Kiswahili) from the State University of Zanzibar. Dr. Nassor has written books in fields such as social work. In addition, he has published research papers in both national and international journals." Dr. Nassor’s academic and research interests focus on gender-responsive interventions, gender equality, social development, and community-based approaches to addressing social challenges. His professional expertise includes social planning and development; social work with vulnerable and marginalized groups; human services and organizational management; human rights; community development; social and public policy analysis; and community-based social work practice.
