Ahmed Silima Vuai is an Assistant Lecturer at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), Tanzania, with an academic and research background in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and geospatial technologies. He holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from IIT Madras Zanzibar Campus and a Bachelor’s degree in Geoinformatics from Ardhi University, Tanzania. He also has a background in land surveying and related geospatial practices, providing him with practical knowledge of spatial data collection and geospatial applications. His research interests include Machine Learning, GeoAI, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Data Science, Satellite Image Analysis, Data Fusion, Change Detection, and Image Classification. His research focuses on applying machine learning and deep learning techniques to remote sensing and geospatial data for land-cover mapping, urban change detection, and geospatial information analysis. He is interested in contributing to the development of practical and data-driven geospatial solutions for Tanzania and Africa.
