I am an Assistant Lecturer at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), with a background in Statistics and Data Science and over eight years of experience in statistical analysis, official statistics, research, and data-driven decision-making. Before joining SUZA, I worked at the Office of the Chief Government Statistician (OCGS), Zanzibar, contributing to national surveys, censuses, national accounts, administrative data systems, and statistical coordination. I hold an MSc in Data Science and a BSc in Statistics. My research interests include machine learning, explainable artificial intelligence, public health and socioeconomic analytics, survey data analysis, and AI applications in official statistics. My research on a hybrid machine learning model for predicting anaemia among children was published in Elsevier’s journal, Machine Learning with Applications.
